On Saturday, March 8th, the Peck band students took the stage at the MSBOA (Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association) District 3 Festival, delivering outstanding performances. Both the Junior High Concert Band and the High School Symphonic Band earned Division I Superior ratings, the highest distinction awarded by the judges.
Throughout the festival, bands were evaluated on key musical elements, including tone, intonation, rhythm, technique, and interpretation. After their prepared performances, students moved to the sight-reading portion, where they had just five minutes to study and perform a brand-new piece for a separate judge.
With their stellar performances, both bands have now qualified for the MSBOA State Band & Orchestra Festival, which will take place in late April or early May.
